Systems Administrator

The candidate will provide Enterprise Backup Systems Administration support as a member of a 6-person team within a large enterprise system supporting a 24x7 operations environment. Operating systems supported include Windows 2003/2008, Solaris 8, Solaris 10, and Linux. Enterprise Backup Systems Administrators are the primary technical interface working with all Server Support teams in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving server backup and restoration issues.

Oversees the day-to-day operation of various storage and backup solutions including hardware/software support, training, and special projects; plans, designs and implements data connectivity in storage area networks (SAN) for backups on multiple server operating systems. Backup services are provided via Tivoli Storage Manager and Veritas NetBackUp.

The position requires In depth experience in managing critical backup infrastructure and processes. Experience managing restorations and database restorations.
Responsible for gathering requirements, installation, configuration, and testing of backups in a high availability enterprise system
Candidate will perform and support routine disaster recovery scenarios and maintain backup policies and standards, including overseeing record retention policies in data archival.

Basic Qualifications:

In-depth technical and administrative knowledge of Veritas NetBackUp product line.
- Knowledge of backup services infrastructure to include MS Windows servers and operating systems and tape and virtual tape libraries
Strong troubleshooting skills with regard to SAN based backup storage and backup and restoration services.

Desired Qualifications:

Knowledge of Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) product line
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Experience with ICD 503 accreditation processes
SAN storage technology
Certifications: - Veritas NetBackUp, Tivoli Storage Manager, MS Windows Administration
Work Hours: The candidate will be responsible for providing core hours and after-hours/on-call support. The standard work hours for the position are as follows: 8-10 hour day shift, during the hours of 6 AM to 6 PM and after hours on-call support when required.
